Kimchu: a white bowl of kimchi with six smiling faces tucked among the cabbage leaves, a steel chopstick beside it

House ferment, fully occupied

Kimchu

Six tenants. One bowl. Nobody signed a lease.

The Shared Bowl

Kimchu began as one sensible cabbage and a scheduling error. By day three, six faces had claimed the good leaves, the cool side of the fridge, and equal access to the chopsticks. They disagree on salt, temperature, and who keeps opening the lid. They agree the brine belongs to everyone.
